Channelize weight gain in Midlife
Increase in weight is common during the middle age of a person. As one approaches the midlife, the metabolism rate tends to slow down which results in increased body weight. One notices the gaining weight in areas like lower abdomen, hips, thighs, and buttocks. One of the main reasons of this increase in weight is less physical activity done by you during your midlife. You can meet up this crisis of increased weight during this phase of life by simply taking into account certain factors.
Lower your intake
You need to eat fewer calories as you reach your midlife because the muscle mass of a person reduces with age. Your first step for lowering your weight during middle age is to reduce your calorie intake. You need to reduce around 50-100 calories per day till you reach your desired goal. On an average, during midlife, men tend to gain five pounds per decade and women gain 3.5 pounds per decade. The reduced intake will lower your chances of increasing the body fat and hence would maintain your body weight.
Take small meals
You can have a stable weight by planning the perfect diet for you. People passing through their midlife should take 5-6 small meals daily which results in faster metabolism rate and lower body fat. If you are taking 3 large meals then it would decrease your metabolism rate and hence would result in increased body weight. Also, your last meal should be earlier in the evening instead of taking it late at night. This results in less stored body fat.
Regular Exercise
Your physical activity tends to reduce as you approach your middle life. One needs to follow regular exercise routine in order to maintain his/her weight during the midlife. Instead of doing any type of rigorous exercises, follow simple exercises like walking, deep breadth, aerobic exercise, household chores, etc. This will again boost your metabolism rate and hence reduce body weight.
Lower the risks of many diseases
People are often told to maintain their body weight during their midlives to avoid many type of diseases, which may occur to an overweight person. Some of these include cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, etc. It is advisable to opt for a fitness program specially designed for people going through their midlife health problems. By following the exact diet plan and regular exercise routine, you can lead a tension free and energy full life.
